SiteMonitor is a great application to ping any web application and website. It can even check that the returned content is correct. Pinging a website is simple, and al you need to do is simply add the website to monitor and specify the time that a website should be pinged. The default is every 30 minutes but this can be done as minimum as every 30 seconds..
SiteMonitor also keeps reports of all activity, and graphical reports can be generated on the up/downtime of all sites.
